About Drew

Drew McCanney is well-known in early education, child care and playwork circles in Scotland through his contributions to conferences, seminars, training events and the professional journals/press and for being the dame in the Auchtermuchty
pantomime!

His style of presentation brings fun and laughter to learning and training and now he has brought his 30 years experience to his own training, consultancy and research service.

As the Senior Inspection and Registration Officer (Under 8s) with Fife Council, Drew made significant contributions to the new regulation of care system.

He was active in promoting amendments to the original Bill; he was a member of the National Care Standards Working Groups on Early Education and Childcare Up To 16 and the Care of Children at Home; and he was a member of the Care Commission's Inspection Methodology Group.

Drew has over 30 years' experience in care in both the public and voluntary sector and in fieldwork, residential and day care.

Conference in May 2006.
